Site Navigation

Since we are a true Mom and Pop business we build and maintain our own web site. I am the Web Site maintenace guy as well as the coffee roaster.

We  maintain 2 stores and since Jan 1 2008 we have added a blog to our site also. All the sites pages, except for the blog comment and post pages will have a link to our Main Index Page.  From the main index page and the information pages, the store links are always on the top right hand side of the right side of the page. The Retail Store has all of the coffee equipment, retail prices for roasted coffee in 1 or 5 pound bags and green coffee beans in 1,5 and 10 pound sized bags. The Wholesale Store is just coffee. 5 pound bags of roasted with a 2 bag minimum to avoid a low order fee and green coffee beans in 25 and 50 pound sized bags.

Right now the Retail Store, Wholesale Store and the Blog require a seperate log in and account.  You can use the same email address and change the passwords to the same, but they will need to be logged in to separately.

I hope this will help you navigate our site!  I am always trying to find a way to combine all three into one log in and account for our customers.

Pre Roasted Coffee Section

We are changing the Day Old section to the Pre Roasted section on our retail store.  We want to pass on some savings to current customers and hopefully add some new customers too!

As I roast this week I will be adding roasted coffee to this section, but we will not have our entire coffee offerings listed there.  Just the best sellers.

Watch for future updates.

Twitter

I am playing around with twitter on Our Coffee Barn. Have you tried twitter yet?

Server Change

We are changing to a newer faster dedicated server right now.  You may find that you can’t log on to place an order now.  We are getting the security certificates migrated to the new server so you may not be able to place an order right now.

Please come back later this morning and our site will be running faster than ever before!

I’ll be back for more.

Hello Pete,

I would like to thank you in advance for kindly shipping replacement beans to me. You demonstrate great integrity, and I both respect and appreciate that very much. I would also like to take this opportunity to express my delight in the way you roast the beans I purchase. I have been buying Guatemala Antigua online for many years, and you, by far, do the best job roasting these coffee beans. Keep up the great work; I’ll be back for more.

Organic El Salvador SHG, Finca Monterey, Bourbon, Rain Forest Alliance

Wow! now thats a long name!

Now to know what all that means.

Organic. The coffee is certified organic. However we are not a certified Organic Roaster yet.  This doesn’t mean we can’t sell Organic coffee we just can’t sell it as “Certified Organic”.

The SHG is just short for “Strictly High Grown”.

Finca Monterey, is the farm where it grew.

Bourbon, is a variety of coffee tree.

Rain Forest Alliance means just that, it is certified by the Rain Forest Alliance!

I just roasted my first test batch of this on Tuesday night, I drank a pot yesterday and now this morning I am just starting my second days test pot.

If you are a fan of Central American coffees you won’t be dissapointed with this Organic El Salvador SHG!  Full flavored, bright and crisp! A VERY smooth velvety thick body with a nice chocolate, dare I say “berry” finish.

Watch our sites stores for the listing later this week.

Baratza Virtuoso Grinder and Chemex used in USBC

I just had to get a picture of this!  We sell them both and what better endorsment than to have them both used by a Barista in the USBC Semi Finals.  He used some fresh ground coffee drip brewed in the Chemex pint coffee brewer in the signature drink category.

Hottop Coffee Roaster at SCAA

We got to meet the Hottop crew at the SCAA Convention!  Michael was GREAT a VERY nice man to do business with!  I hope to have a very long business relationship with Hottop.  Here are a few pictures, and a video of Michael unpacking a Hottop Coffee Roaster, I took this video to show just how well they are packed.
